Getting There

Lesbos Map
  • The journey directly to Lesbos (Mytilini) by charter flight is an obvious choice, with many of the larger airlines and holiday companies offering flights from most major airports.  Or you can fly directly to Athens using an airline such as Aegean Air or Easy jet and then take a local 50 minute flight to Lesbos.  However, if you have time to spare why take one of the luxury ferry boats from the Athenian port of Piraeus to the island.  This is an interesting alternative and you may even consider ‘island hopping’ on the way.
  • Once on Lesbos, Aegean Blue is just a taxi journey away, taking you through some of the most beautiful of the island's varied landscape.  In 2009 the approx price of this journey by taxi was 70 euros.  However, it is also possible to travel by local bus between the capital town of Mytilini and the beautiful beach resort of Eressos, about 15 km from Aegean Blue.
  • There is nothing like hiring a car to really simplify your arrangements, especially if you book in advance.  Europcar, Hertz and Budget are all located at Mytilini airport which would enable you to pick up your car as soon as you arrive.   However, local car hire companies are also at your service.  (The 2009 price from Europcar for a medium-sized car (VW Polo) is approx £225 per week, or from local hirers you may be lucky and get one for as little as 30 euros a day).  Having the freedom of a car would also allow you to thoroughly explore the surrounding area of Aegean Blue during your stay.

Whatever your travel choices, please do not hestitate to contact us as we are always happy to help.  In particular, travel to and from Mytilini airport to Aegean Blue can be arranged by us locally and, if we are in the area, we will even pick you up for free!

Aegean Blue is situated in the ancient farming area of Podaras on the south coast of the island, west of the entrance to the Gulf of Kaloni. Its very nature, and part of its charm, means it is isolated and secluded.
